Letter to WP Engine: Immediate Resolution Required for WP Engine’s Dispute with WordPress.org

Dear WP Engine Team,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and concern regarding the recent actions that have led to WP Engine being banned from WordPress.org. As a loyal customer who relies on WP Engine’s services to manage and maintain websites for numerous clients, I was shocked to learn about your haphazard attempt to block WordPress.org’s communications, resulting in thousands of customer sites being affected.

The fact that WP Engine has disabled and locked down a core WordPress feature to extract profit, as well as your ongoing legal disputes with WordPress.org, is both alarming and unacceptable. Your decision to put your business interests over the integrity of WordPress services has not only disrupted sites but also threatens the security and performance of customer websites — including mine.

As a customer, I expect WP Engine to prioritize transparency, security, and seamless functionality in its services. Your negligence and disregard for the broader WordPress community have created an avoidable inconvenience that has affected my ability to trust in your platform.

I would like to encourage WP Engine to:

Immediately resolve the issues with WordPress.org and work toward restoring the functionality that was lost due to this situation.

Offer compensation or credits to affected customers for the disruptions and potential security risks your actions have caused.

Commit to more transparent communication with your customer base moving forward to ensure such negligence does not occur again.

I have enjoyed working with WP Engine in the past, but if swift action is not taken to resolve this matter, I will be left with no choice but to take my business elsewhere. In addition, I am encouraging other WP Engine users who share my concerns to share this message urging WP Engine to fix this issue immediately or risk losing our collective business.

I hope you will act quickly to make things right.

Sincerely,

Masters of WordPress
